More Deutsche leichte Feldhaubitzen 1935-1945 (Waffen-Arsenal 125) By Joachim Engelmann Haubitzen kennt man aus dem 15. Jahrhundert seit den Hussiten-Kriegen. Die Tschechen nannten ihr Feldgeschütz von 15 bis 25 cm, das sowohl Flach-wie Steilfeuer abgeben konnte, "houfiiice". Noch war es ortsfest. Technisch verbessert und auf Rader-Lafette, wurde sie Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts eine wichtige Waffe der Festungs- und Belagerungs-Artillerie mit einer Höchstschuft weite von 1.500 Metern und einer Schußfolge von 2 Schuß/min. Im Siebenjährigen Krieg setzten die Preußen bereits einzelne Feldhaubitzen in ihren Kanonen-Batterien ein. während die Belagerungsartillerie neben 7pfündigen (15 cm) und lOpfündigen (17 cm) auch schon über 25pfündige (22 cm) und 30pfündige (24 cm) Haubitzen verfügte. In der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts brachten die Erfahrungen der Freiheitskriege begrenzte technische Verbesserungen bei den Schußweiten, geringerem Gewicht und günstigerem Verhältnis von Beweglichkeit und Wirkung. So erhielt die preußische Artillerie eine 25pfündige (22.65 cm) mit 3.15 km Reichweite und eine 50pfündige (28.43 cm) Haubitze mit 3.2 km Höchstschußweite. Die in Erprobung befindliche 7Pfünder-Haubitze kam erst 1850 zur Truppe.
