The privately rented housing market has largely catered for young, mobile people and students since it was deregulated in the late 1980s. In this volume, the editors provide a timely insight into this rapidly evolving market, asking: What is the nature of this market? How should we interpret what is happening through the government's and the EU's attempts to regulate worst practice and create a 'fair' commercial market and better management of the sector?
