More BBC - Osama Bin Laden: Dead Or Alive (2010) Gener: Documentary The last time Osama Bin Laden was seen in public was December 2001. Since then 30 audio and video messages have been issued in his name, but sceptics claim they're fakes, implying that both al-Qaeda and the CIA have their own reasons for keeping the idea of the Saudi terrorist alive. But is the Western world's number one enemy still alive? The phrases "probably", "almost certainly" and "this suggests" pepper every interview, though reports that he died eight years ago from kidney disease are dismissed fairly convincingly. "It's easier to explain things away with a conspiracy than to face up to the difficult reality," shrugs former CIA officer Art Keller. The truth, he believes, is that Bin Laden is very crafty - as he avoids all types of modern communication, his enemies can't pinpoint his whereabouts.
