I am starting becoming annoyed with the plot in terms of how the books are divided. Yes, we all know that cliffhangers are effective techniques to assure readers will buy the next book, but I'm starting to feel a bit cheated. The main episode/concern in the last novel (Shadowland) didn't seem to be completely wrapped up and was carried into Dark Flame, with the issue being resolved somewhere around the middle of the book. The second half of Dark Flame feels a bit segmented, cut short in the middle of something monumentally important. Again, I feel it's taking the cliffhanger thing a bit too far.
