与Cable有线通及DDN专线相比，ADSL在使用前需要进行虚拟拨号是相当麻烦的。不仅Enternet等拨号软件会占据大量的系统资源，更重要的是一旦我们重新启动电脑，我们的IP地址也将改变，这对于那些需要假设FTP服务器或者个人Web站点的用户是一种烦恼。事实上，ADSL也可以像Cable有线通那样做到开机上网，下面就让我们来看一下如何实现这一功能。需要注意的是，我们实现这一功能的原理是使用ADSLModem的内置拨号程序。目前不少 使用以太网接口的外置式ADSLModem都内置了大容量ROM芯片，我们完全可以将它利用上。以我手头的中兴ADSL831为例，只要将ADSLModem的Firmware升级到2.79版本，我们就可以轻松地达到目地。
