Альбом в целом оправдал ожидания поклонников группы. Несмотря на то, что а-ha вновь вернулась к поп-формату (подчеркиваю к поп музыке, а не к попсе), соединив в альбоме акустические и электронные элементы, группа не изменила себе, и выпустила качественную и зрелую продукцию. Открывает альбом жесткая заглавная композиция, вновь возвращающая нас к традиционной для a-ha теме одиночества и изолированности человека в окружающем его мире. Особо выделяются, на ровном в целом альбоме, элегантная "Velvet" и эпический хит "Summer Moved On", который, вопреки заблуждениям многих, рассказывает вовсе не о погодных и сезонных явлениях природы. Красивая и мягкая баллада "You'll Never Get Over Me", названная британскими музыкальными критиками самой мелодичной песней со времен Beatles и близкая, на мой взгляд, к идеальной песне, напомнит слушателю лучшие работы группы начала 90-х. Некоторой неудачей считаю трек "I Won't Forget Her", изначально планировавшийся в гитарно-блюзовой версии, а в окончательном варианте получившийся некоторым откатом в сторону абсолютно нетипичной для А-ха танцевальной музыки.Однако мягкий танцевальный ритм все же не является в песне ведущим. Как и во всех песнях группы доминирует мелодия. А завершает альбом песня – дань творчеству "The Beatles" - великолепная "Mary Ellen Makes The Moment Count", спродюсированная гитаристом группы Полом Воктором и пролившаяся бальзамом на души ярых приверженцам "Memorial Beach". Одним словом, a-ha в очередной раз выпустили альбом, предназначенный не для ног, а для разума. И пусть до шедевра ему далеко, и «Minor Earth | Major Sky» является альбомом-копромисcом, небольшим откатом назад по сравнению с двумя предыдущими работами, a-ha не изменили себе и доказали свое право числиться классиками поп и рок-музыки.
