Body of Knowledge: The "Project Management Body of Knowledge" (PMBOK®) is an inclusive term that describes the sum of knowledge within the profession of project management. Good practice does not mean that the knowledge described should always be applied uniformly on all projects; the project management team is responsible for determining what is appropriate for any given project. The PMBOK® Guide – Third Edition continues to be an appropriate reference for individuals who will take a PMI certification exam prior to 30 June 2009.
