本书力图把孔子的一些言语放到我们的生活之中，把孔子当成一个睿智的长者来理解。全书以作者的五十篇札记组成，对一些经典篇章进行了生动有趣而又不乏深度的阐发，为当代人走近孔子、理解《论语》提供了一条轻松愉悦的道路。若说是以这种方式更加“准确”地传承《论语》的精神，显然不是本书所能做的也不是它想做的。与“正确”相比，“真切”二字显然更有吸引力。
