唐吉诃德是个涂抹着喜剧油彩的悲剧主人公,一方面,他向往自由,具有高尚的人文主义精神,一方面,他是个天才的幻想家,在自己的白日梦中,不断幻想着用过时的骑士精神来改造现实,因而屡屡上演闹剧,引爆了无数让人捧腹的笑料。
正如诗人海涅所说的那样:“塞万提斯,莎士比亚、歌德在叙事、戏剧、抒情这三类创作中分别达到登峰造极的地步。”俄国著名批评家别林斯基亦精辟的指出:“在欧洲一切著名文学作品中,把严肃和滑稽,悲剧性和喜剧性,生活中的琐屑和庸俗与伟大和美丽如此水乳交融,这样的范例仅见于《唐吉诃德》。” 塞万提斯用夸张而色彩斑斓的幻想,生动而具有表现力的语言,极富情趣与荒诞色彩的各色人物,留给了我们一部喜闻乐见的佳作。每当看到唐吉诃德举起长矛冲向风车的那经典的一幕,虽然明知结局是什么,我们仍然会被他脸上那一片梦想的纯洁光辉所吸引,从而不忍叫醒这个身处梦中的无畏骑士,让他的美梦得以继续。 在不知道自己的悲哀的情况下,唐吉诃德至少是幸福的,谁说不是呢?而这本书,在某种意义上,亦可说是一首自由的颂歌。
