德国的尼采是西方19世纪末最伟大的哲学家之一，“上帝死了”“重估一切价值”等惊世之论就出自他的口。“超人的意志”是他为弱小的人类找到的新生存价值，他毕其一生实践着自己的理想，因为不能忍受人类的懦弱与中庸，他不得不常年过成离群索居的生活，是一个追求真理的疯狂天才。 对今天的读者来说，尼采向我们昭示的独立精神、批判精神和开创精神，甚至比他的学说本身更重要。如今的世界各种理论风行，偶像崇拜已成为很多人的生活必需，甚至连邪教都能一呼百应——现代社会的症结，就在于物质生活的发达已使很多人因智性活动的减少或因思想的日益程式化而逐渐失去了个人的思考力、判断力，失去了批判精神和个人的独立精神。在这种状况之下，假如我们读点尼采，或许我们能找回某些失去的东西，少一些精神的奴性。 “谁终将声震人间，必长久深自缄默；谁终将点燃闪电，必长久如云漂泊。我的时代还没有到来。有的人死后方生。”
