吴让之（1799-1870），江苏仪征人，包世臣的学生。原名廷飏，字熙载，后改字让之，亦作攘之，别署让翁、晚学居士、方竹丈人等。是清末著名的书画篆刻家。一生清贫，著有《通鉴地理今释稿》。吴让之善作四体书与写意花卉，他的篆刻学邓石如而能自成面目，为后世所宗法。在书法方面成就最大的是篆书。吴昌硕说过：“余常与人学完白不若取经于让翁。”此语代表了当时人们崇敬吴让之的心情。他的篆书汲取了邓石如端庄、浑厚的风格，又加以自己的理解，使之更加飘逸、舒展，柔中带刚，法度严谨。但受邓石如和包世臣的束缚太深，未能创造自己的风格。
