Summary: New Rules rocks Rating: 5 I started lifting in high school 20 years ago, and thought I was "trained." Turns out I was in the dark. I am on week 9 of Alwyn's program, and I am sold for life. The results I have gotten from just the first eight weeks of this program are honestly shocking. These guys really know what they are doing. This is a must-have book for any intermediate level weight lifter. Summary: The best book on the subject Rating: 5 This is the best workout book that I have read. The workouts are challenging, time efficient, and effective. For years, I have done slightly different versions of teh same workotuts with limited results. By using written workouts, I can see the gains, make rational changes and experience the effects of periodization. I can complete a full-body exhausting workout in 25-35 minutes. This is the only workout book that I have ever recomended... Summary: Great info Rating: 4 Book filled with great information on total body fitness, not focusing on specific body parts. He uses a very common sense approach. My wife and I are currently following the workouts in the his/hers versions of this book. The only negative thing I found about this book is that the author unnecessarily uses bad language throughout the book. It would have been much more professional without that. Summary: very useful with a chuckle. Rating: 4 I've been following alwyn cosgrove's program for a while and very satisfy with his routine. This book give me more understanding of why i'm doing what i'm doing. It's very simeple lay-out easy to read through, a little laugh here and there. the only part i wish it would be better is the nutrition part. It has a good over view of what i should eat but it doesn't tell me how much or how to plan my eating in a diffrent stage. But if you going to have one book for working out (for a regular joe, not for Mr. universal) this is a good one. you can flip through and see the routine keep changing before you get bored with the same routine. Summary: not happy with the book. Rating: 1 I was expecting this to be an easy read and easy to follow workout program,but this was not the case.They gave you workouts telling you to do 2or3 or4 times a week and this was misleading.
